Costa Calida

"The Warm Coast", or Costa Calida lies between the Costa Blanca and Costa Almería.

It offers more than 150 miles of soft sand beaches, salt marshes teeming with wildlife, small fishing ports, plus all the leisure and resort amenities you could desire: tennis, golf, water skiing, children’s activities, lively nightlife and much more.

Choose between two "seas" – the Med and the "Mar Menor" a mineral-rich, shallow lagoon and water park that attracts families with beginner swimmers, birdwatchers, lovers of succulent seafood, and water sports enthusiasts.

The area is dotted with small, traditional villages such as Cabo de Palos, and inexpensive places to savour local dishes.

If you seek tranquillity, head for the nearby Park of Calblanque nature reserve, with almost 10 miles of protected cliffs, salt flats and sand dunes, where the loudest sounds will be lapping waves and the cry of gulls.
